The physical drives should now show up in the left pane. You may need to click on the "View" drop down list just above the left pane in Disk Utility and select "Show all devices". Until then, sorry, you have an expensive 2400 BAUD modem, not a 9600bps that you thought you bought. Support call: caller- how do I get to 9600bps with my new modem? response: go into settings, RS232, change port speed to 9.6 or whatever the highest setting and hit save. Now we are back to apple the draconian, charging us more for the platform than anyone else and treating us like children, reminiscent of when I worked in high-speed modem companies in the early 90s. Used to be you could plug and play with SanDisk USB 2.0 sticks, and Apple still had the 3rd option in May of 2019 that you could select unapproved developers in your security settings.
